The first thing you want to do is try to locate a loose tile.

Step 5 go ahead and use as much force as necessary to remove the tile if heat or cold don t loosen the glue.
For semi soft adhesive mastic use 120 grit sandpaper to remove it from the wall.
To remove wall tiles start by heating up the grout between the tiles with a blow dryer so it s easier to remove.
Finish sanding the entire wall with 120 grit sand paper on drywall sanding pad.
To remove thinset use a stiff putty knife and some elbow grease to scrape it from the wall.
Tiles installed with thinset or another tile adhesive often require more work to remove them.
Fill drywall gouges with drywall joint compound and sand it smooth.
The extreme cold may make the glue brittle and cause the tile to come off easily.
If you find one it should be fairly easy to remove giving you an in to access the rest.
This isn t the fastest way to remove the residue.
Scrape the wall working the leading edge of a long handled floor scraper behind the broken tiles.
Allow to fully dry.
Then use a utility knife or rotary grinder to scrape away the grout until the spacer lugs between the tiles are visible.
Step 6 sand the glue residue off the wall using an orbital sander and 80 grit sandpaper.
Next use a chisel and hammer to pry the tiles off of the wall.
A wide blade putty.
Okay with the safety precautions are taken care of it s time to start removing those old wall tiles before fitting new ones.
